Music: Mental Abuse LIVE 1/10/09

Mental Abuse has gotten back together, and my blue-haired brotha from anotha Dave Gutierrez is playing the bass...at least as of around 12:30pm earlier today. They announced their first shows, check out the flyer above, and there's more to come.

Rumor is Frank Frazetta is going to show up at Lippy's Xtreme Sports Bar to watch the NFL Divisional games and top it off with some Mental Abuse. Sounds like a day well spent to me. Sure beats the hell out of seeing James Jean at the Levine Gallery. heh

Obamafy yourself!

Sent from my brother, Ray, a neat little Photo Booth plugin to Obamafy yourself aka Shepard Fairey-ize yo' ass.

Music: Grossstadtgefluster

Fell onto this band from Germany called Grossstadtgefluster, pretty cool. You can listen to some clips at last.fm and check them out on MySpace. iTunes has their album "Bis einer heult!!!" available for download.

Time Further Out

Heard some noise by this 'band'...The Boston Typewriter Orchestra. Or if you're into MySpace. They got me to listen to all three tracks, which was a surprise, as I thought they'd be a one-track novelty.

Has anyone done a study on the internet's relationship to ADD, particularly its elicitation? Is 'elicitation' a word?

"But, is that...legal?"

"I will make it legal."

time in

Oops...leave it to a blog to make you feel that time is passing by even quicker than you thought. Now that I've moved to Providence, RI, it seems like a good idea to try keeping a real blog, meaning an up-to-date blog. So here it goes!

I read a slew of articles today having to do with relationships and such, given that Valentine's Day is tomorrow. One covered various society's approaches to flirting, and the differences were staggering if not hilarious. When I came upon this passage, I couldn't help but grin widely, the shit-eating type:

***A recent sociological study in the Czech Republic carried out for the labour ministry found that most people perceived sexual harassment as being "a concept artificially imported from abroad."

"Conversations with hidden erotic meaning, provocative allusions and even rude stories are all part of what makes the world go round," the study concluded.***

Artifical importation from abroad of that which causes the world to not go around. Amen.
